There are a number of ways that the seniors and people with disabilities who are in the LA Care Medicare Plus (HMO D-SNP) program are protected. The State of California is committed to ongoing reviews, surveys and assessments in an effort to meet and address the needs and concerns of members in the LA Care Medicare Plus (HMO D-SNP) program.
Continuity of Care
Members can see a doctor who is not in the LA Care Network if all of the following rules are met:
- When you joined LA Care, the doctor was treating you for one of the eligible conditions (an acute or serious chronic illness, pregnancy, terminal illness, care of a newborn, upcoming surgery or procedure)
- the doctor agrees to our pay rates
- the doctor does not have quality issues
